toggle clasp

Toggle Clasps: Commonly made of pewter they are a ring shape peice of metal and a bar shape peice. The bar is then threaded through the ring, quite often by turning it sidewards so that when its sitting horizontal its not able to pass back through the round peice. Most modern toggle clasps have more detail than the earlier ones that were available on the market. Toggle clasps are the most popular variety of clasp for necklaces and bracelets.
When using this kind of clasp with a bracelet you will need to make the finished length of the bracelet an extra 1cm long to make sure that you will be able to put it on.

magnetic jewellery clasps

Magnetic Clasps: Clasps that use a simple magnet to hold the piece together. They are available in a wide variety of styles, from the simple barrel shape to the foldover clasps with a hinge and space for multiple strands to be attached. The simple rule with magnetic clasps is the more that you have paid the stronger the magnet inside will be. I would recommend avoiding using barrel magnetic clasps with heavy necklaces as sometimes they come apart.
With bracelets the new kind of fold over magnetic clasp is the most popular clasp we stock as you will be able to create the bracelets so that they sit nice and tight when worn.
